IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore launches NEW dual zoned refrigerated container

Monday, Feb 11, 2013

IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore, part of the Ferguson Group, a specialist in providing refrigeration and freezer solutions for offshore food transportation and storage, is pleased to announce its new 6m dual zone refrigerated/chiller container.

Following extensive market research, IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore has developed a new 6m dual zone refrigerated/chiller container manufactured to DNV 2.7-1/EN12079 for the offshore energy sector.

The new product offers a flexible solution, in one container, for transporting a range of perishable foodstuff that requires specific storage conditions. It is capable of providing cooling in either a single or dual zone compartment simultaneously, in a -30oC to +20oC ambient temperature range.

The IceBlue 6m dual zone refrigerated/chiller container provides temperature control for transportation and storage, suitable for use in a range of climatic conditions. It offers a built-in easily moveable partition to convert the dual zone container from a single to a dual compartmentalized container, with an independent controller that is configurable to separately regulate the temperature.

James Scullion, IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore business development executive said: “The IceBlue product range is constantly evolving in line with client needs and the new dual zone container is an exciting development that we are pleased to bring to the offshore market.

“We have already had interest from existing clients and the new product will shortly be available from a number of our global bases.”

The new containers will be available from the Ferguson Group’s bases including: UK, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Australia or through the Group’s partners located in Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Malta, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Ghana, East Timor, New Zealand and Trinidad.

Steven Ferguson, Chairman and CEO of the Ferguson Group, said: “Since its launch in 2011 IceBlue has continued to expand its product offerings. Taking delivery of this new innovative product at each of our international bases is a major achievement for the company, ensuring that IceBlue is well placed to mobilise its range of refrigeration containers as quickly as customers require them.”

In the past month IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore has mobilised additional new containers to Singapore, Trinidad, Ghana and the Middle East. Its UK and Norway bases continue to be very busy supplying refrigeration containers to North Sea clients – providing them with a range of refrigeration containers from 2.5m – 6.0m sizes.

Ferguson Group employs more than 170 people worldwide through its Ferguson Modular, Ferguson Seacabs and IceBlue divisions serving the offshore container rental and accommodation modules markets. The company is currently involved in a three-year investment programme across its operations to support the global expansion strategy.  The Group, based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, has operations in all major global oil and gas locations.
